The Mask of Irrelative Comparisons: Mac Issues vs. Windows Issues

Over the course of a nerd-life, one hears countless retellings of the “Windows woes”. Most everyone compares the Windows OS to the Mac OS, and uses the Mac as an example of a bug-free (at least a more bug-free) system; however, this conception is a completely false one. The reason for this is that Windows holds about 80% of the PC (this doesn’t mean Windows) market.  Leaving the Mac OS with a meager 20%. Take into account the shear number of computers, and you have approximately eight billion Windows computers, and only two billion Macs. This creates a slight issue when comparing the two. For example, comparing the number of bugs, issues, and crashes.

However, this is not to say that the Windows OS is equally or more stable then the Mac OS, it’s merely saying that the Mac OS is not a hugely better as people make it out to be (this coming from an Apple fanboy).

What are your thoughts on the matter? Is the Windows OS better or worse when compared to the Mac OS, or do you like Linux? Tell us in the comments section below, as well as the poll.
